Meteorite dropping fireball observed in Alberta - the first observed fall for MORP 2.0

August 31, 2019

The news in Alberta, Canada reported a Fireball viewed from Edmonton at around 10:23 p.m. mountain time on August 31st (4:23 UTC September 1st, 2019).

There are many security and dash camera records. This amazing fireball was captured also by one of Chris Herd’s cameras in Vermilion. The Alberta team is now collecting data from other sources to triangulate this potential meteorite dropper. Thanks to Aurora Borealis being active and photographed that night, there are accidental captures of the fireball like this beautiful shot by Shane Turgeon.
